About us

Welcome to our page.

We are a brand new family run business created to help bring people together in the community

We are originally from East Sussex in the UK and moved our family of 5 to Perth in 2023 after we fell in love with the WA after 2 week holiday.

We came up with the idea of this business while working. Unlike most business ventures, this idea was primarily designed around helping people in the community.

Our main aim for our business is to help senior/aged people connect with new people and enjoy this beautiful country at the same time

We are working in the community on a day to day basis and enjoy meeting new people and hearing their facinating stories. Working in this environment, we find very rewarding.

Working in the community, one recurring conversation we have with people and their loved ones, was how much they would appreciate some regular company or how they would like to have opportunities to get out and about and meet new people again, many of these conversations coming from retirement villages.

We found a common conversation was that family were too busy at times with other commitments to accommodate this. Often we would hear that people felt like a burden asking to be taken out for the day. Also transport difficulties were a common topic, confidence in driving or not wanting to use public transport.

Hearing these conversations were heartbreaking and left us feeling helpless. This made us feel like we wanted to help facilitate an easy way of meeting new people and seeing some different places too, which is when we came up with the idea of Sunshine Companions.

Offering morning meet ups with new friends with gentle exercise, hot drinks, games and different conversation topics.
